Citizen AOL focuses on investing in women and future leaders, strengthening communities, and empowering as many people as possible to make their mark on the world.

Our annual Monster Help Day is one of Citizen AOL's core programs. Last year, more than 3,000 employees in 27 cities volunteered for worthy causes, one third of which are directly aligned with the AOL Charitable Foundation.

Every quarter we have a global 'All hands' hosted by Tim Armstrong our CEO. Employees are encouraged to write in and ask those 'difficult' questions in an open and transparent environment. The questions are presented to him by 'an every day employee' - who will also challenge responses. This is copied at a local level during regional 'All hands' sessions. The employee's voice is genuinely heard in these forums and often action taken from this.

We created Makers - MAKERS (www.makers.com/uk) is a women's leadership platform that highlights the stories of groundbreaking women today to create the leaders of tomorrow. It is the largest collection of women's stories ever assembled. MAKERS encompasses broadcast documentaries, web and mobile-first video content, and live events.

Monster Help Day: Our Biggest & Most Impactful Yet

Monster Help Day is AOL's company-wide day of service when AOLers around the globe have the opportunity to give back to their communities. This year's Monster Help Day was our biggest and best yet, with 150 volunteer projects supporting 120 different nonprofits and employees donating 13,420 hours of service. Employees's efforts directly impacted 15,000 women, girls and underserved youth, world-wide.Nearly 4,000 employees in 47 cities participated in projects that included addressing the Migrant Crisis in Europe and helping organizations that create and perform interactive theater for children in hospitals and care facilities.
